The Last Mile

When Ian Tregoning made a call for visualizing one of the 15 soundtracks of composer musician Boris Blank I selected The Last Mile. The last Mile is a track on Boris Solo Album Electrified. I worked on that clip in 2014. The clip was originaly created for a flat screen but I worked with Mettle Freeform Pro, a 3d plug-in, inside After Effects. While creating the virtual objects that seem to pass by in sync with the music i was aware that they would obscure each other in the limited space of the flat 2K screen. It was hard to decide at which point they would show up in the frame or disappear (think of this problem as the sphere entering flatland as a circle). I also needed more screen real-estate to make them shine! And in doing so honor the beautifull sounds from Boris. So when VR took off and got a greater audience I decided to make a new version of the clip for the VR 360 space. This selection is only 30 seconds. The final version of The Last Mile is a few minutes. I consider this work in progress. So watch this space....
